Results of Stage 3: Eligibility Assessment – ITL Open Innovation Call 2025
The Institute of Clean Technologies (ITL) informs that, following the evaluation process of the Eligibility Stage, a total of 40 initiatives out of the 48 submitted have been selected to advance to the next phase of the 2025 Open Innovation Call.
This outcome reflects the high level of interest and commitment demonstrated by universities, technological centers, national and international companies, and strategic consortia that participated in the process. It is noteworthy that proposals were received not only from Chilean entities, but also from institutions based in Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom, confirming the global relevance of the call and Chile’s ability to attract international collaboration in technological innovation.
The proposals cover a broad range of priority thematic areas for the energy transition and sustainable mining, including:
- Electromobility and energy storage.
- Decarbonization of industrial processes.
- Production of tailings with reduced water content.
- Optimization of flotation and leaching processes.
- Reduction of particulate matter and greenhouse gas emissions.
In addition, these projects will enable ITL to establish permanent technological capabilities associated with the validation, operation, and scaling of solutions in heavy-duty electromobility, energy storage in mining contexts, advanced metallurgy, and intelligent management systems.
The diversity of applicants and thematic areas confirms the relevance of the call and the capacity of the innovation ecosystem to deliver concrete solutions to sustainability challenges in the northern macrozone and across Chile as a whole.
ITL thanks all entities that submitted their projects and reaffirms its commitment to continuing to promote open, collaborative innovation with territorial impact, as a driving force for the transformation toward a cleaner and more competitive mining and industrial sector.
